The Wersterkwartier characterized by coulissen- dike and landscape, which is sandwiched between the City of Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland provinces and the Lauwersmeer area. Mounds, ditches, pastures and winding roads give variety to the wide landscape. This is the oldest cultural landscape in the Netherlands and even of North-West Europe.
Near our B&B you can make beautiful bike rides and there are beautiful hiking trails. (Family) bicycles are available for rent. Just 60 meters away you find 'Het Oude Diep'. This is a great pick up point for beautiful canoe trips and you do some excellent fishing here. With a wide variety of flora and fauna, there is plenty to do. The center of the city of Groningen is within 20 minutes by bus or car.
