A guardhouse in the enchantingly beautiful Brabant fortified town of Heusden. Built in the late 16th century as one of four city gates, referring to the village of Wijk bij Aalburg. The Wijkse Poort was restored in 1984 and now forms a prominent point on the town wall overlooking the marina. The Wijkse Poort is a unique place to spend the night. With several restaurants and cosy terraces, Heusden offers a great night out and in De Wijkse Poort it is nice to come home. The cosy living area has a spacious sofa, a fine dining table and kitchen and has a modern bathroom with all modern conveniences. Towels, a hairdryer and small bathroom items have already been laid out for you. The bedroom is upstairs, on the mezzanine and from your bed you look straight into the original, old roof of the guardhouse. The view is phenomenal. With the marina on one side and the fortifications on the other, you can imagine yourself back in the Middle Ages. See you soon!
